Life Imprisonment at Bannerghatta National Park

Eyes are said to be the most expressive organ, we not just see through them but can even listen right through them. They are like a small window into our minds for others to peep through. They very effectively reflect our thoughts and the state of mind. Hence eyes can definitely be called the mirror of the heart and the mind.

When I happened to look into one such eye, all I found was helplessness, fear and innocence.

Through the eyes

Those eyes told me enough to feel sad, completely dejected and also responsible for the state it is now in. A creature so beautiful and elegant, Once the King and the Queen of the jungle is now abducted from its Home & habitat and sentenced for Life imprisonment, for no fault of its own expect that it happens to be one of the most beautiful creature on this planet. It’s like sending Angelina Jolie into imprisonment because we happened to be amused by her beauty...!!! Does this sound highly idiotic and insanely irrational … If it does then this beautiful creature deserves no different.

A King which send shivers into the spine of all that lived in the jungle is now fearful of an animal. An animal which is known for its bullish nature and one which thinks that it can do anything with handful of guns and truck loads of money. We are so blinded by power, money and our egos that we have completely forgotten that there is a very fine balance in the ecosystem and our very existence depends on it.

The myriad of animals here seem far from being happy, instead they seem extremely tensed and fearful. They might be well fed rather spoon fed but they definitely can no longer hunt and earn their own meal. The king which once pounced on its prey now begs for a loaf of meat to be thrown at it. Probably by now most of these predators must have completely forgotten the art of hunting and reduced to mere mannequins of the animal which once ruled the jungles of this planet.

I am not asking for any Conservation of Tigers or Lion etc etc… but what I do know is that, these stunning creates do not need to be in a cell or cage or in life imprisonment. They deserve a respectable and an honorable death in its habitat just like every other living organism. Let the King Live and Die as a King ….!!!

well said Sharath.. "When two worlds collide - the anger and pain of those who remain..."... But in this case it seems most of the anger and Pain is on the other side..!!
